Alexander Matthies

For almost 20 years now, Alexander Matthies has been filling leadership, board and management positions in the mechanical and plant engineering sector, and in the manufacturing industry more generally – through headhunting and executive search as well as through his outstanding professional network. Additionally, he advises mid-tier companies on filling positions on their advisory boards. His goal is to provide these mid-tier organisations, which tend to be run by their owners, with external expertise and relevant industry knowledge.

Following his technical training with a leading aviation concern, Matthies studied business administration. Following this, he worked for a number of years in an HR consultancy firm which specialised in headhunting, before joining GET AHEAD in 2004. His focuses are in sales, marketing and technology. In 2006 he became a partner, taking responsibility for the firm’s corporate policy, and is working on the internationalisation of the company’s consultancy portfolio with Friisberg Partners International. As a founding member of the Renewable Energy Hamburg Cluster and an active member of various solar and wind energy associations, he has been contributing to the development of the renewables sector since the turn of the millennium.

In conjunction with these activities, Matthies represents GET AHEAD as a sponsor of the New Year’s Reception of the Federal Association of Renewable Energies. A father of two, he loves classic automobiles and expeditions to far-away countries. He regularly participates in charity rallies which support good causes in the countries that host them.
